Swati Maliwal offers Atishi ‘black’ water brought from Delhi resident’s house

As Delhi’s air quality dips to hazardous levels, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal on Saturday claimed pollution was in the water too.
Maliwal, in full public display, spilt polluted water outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi. Maliwal claimed that the water was collected from a house in Sagar Pur in South West Delhi, where the government has been supplying alleged contaminated water.
The AAP MP left the bottle of contaminated water outside the gate of the Chief Minister’s residence and gave a 15-day ultimatum to resolve the water pollution issue.
“I warn the Chief Minister that this is just a sample. If within fifteen days she does not fix the water supply of Delhi, I will bring a tanker filled with contaminated water here (Atishi’s residence),” she said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Maliwal stated that she was invited by a family in Sagarpur to inspect the quality of water, and she found black water filled with pollutants.
She said, “The people of Sagarpur, Dwarka have called me and the situation there is very bad. I went to a house and polluted water was being supplied there. I collected the polluted water in a bottle and I brought it here at the Chief Minster’s residence.”
She stated that for the last nine years the government has been promising that every house would get RO water every following year.
“Is this the Diwali gift to the people of Delhi?” she questioned.
This comes as the Yamuna River continues to be highly polluted with no significant change in the water quality as a thick layer of toxic foam floats over it.
